Skilled trades students

KSF Trades Scholarship

The KSF Trades Scholarship backs students building careers in the skilled trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, welding, automotive and construction, along with the technical programs and registered apprenticeships that feed them.

The Kaleidoscope Scholarship Fund holds and administers this fund. Awards are paid directly to the recipient's enrolled institution or training provider.

Open to students enrolled in an accredited trade school, community college technical program or registered apprenticeship.

Why this scholarship exists

The path nobody printed a brochure for

The jobs are open. Electricians, plumbers, welders and HVAC techs are in short supply and the pay is real. The training still costs money, and the costs that are not tuition are the ones that end it.

Skilled work, real shortage

Electricians, plumbers, welders, HVAC techs. The jobs are open and the pay is real. The training still costs money.

The costs that aren't tuition

Tools, boots, a certification exam, gas to get to the site. Small numbers that end careers before they start.

Two years, not ten

An apprenticeship or a technical program puts someone to work fast. A gift goes further when the finish line is close.
Where your gift goes

Tuition, tools and the test fee

The Kaleidoscope Scholarship Fund holds and administers this fund, and disbursements go directly to the recipient's enrolled institution or training provider. Award amounts and the number of recipients are set each year based on what the community raises, so a bigger pool means more students finish.

Who made this possible

Backed by people who work with their hands

Carry it forward

Put someone to work

A gift here does not buy a diploma to hang up. It buys a license, a set of tools and a first day on the job. Give once, or give every year.
