The KSF General Scholarship is the fund for donors who want their gift to go where it is needed most rather than to one named program. Dollars support individual KSF named programs started and ran by the KSF board.
Every named fund at KSF exists for a reason and a person. That focus is its strength, and it also means each one can only reach so far. A general gift isn't aimed at any single program. It goes into the funds KSF runs and lands where the need is greatest that year.
The Kaleidoscope Scholarship Fund holds and administers this fund. Dollars support the named programs KSF's board starts and runs, and awards are paid directly to each recipient's enrolled institution. Because nothing is earmarked, the board can move money to the program with the widest shortfall instead of waiting for a matching gift to show up.
This fund has no founding family and no naming partner. It exists because donors give without directing where the money lands, and trust the board to put it where it does the most good. Every gift joins the same pool, at any size.
You don't have to choose a program to change what happens inside one. Give once, or give every year, and let the fund put your gift where the need is widest.
