Joe Senser lost his father at 11. His mother, unable to care for five children on her own, sent him to the Milton Hershey School in Pennsylvania, 120 miles from home. It was a school for kids who had nowhere else to go.
He could have let that be the whole story. He didn't. The people who knew Joe describe a man defined by resilience, by community, and by the belief that where you start doesn't determine where you finish.
Joe passed away in May 2026. His family and The Lake Conference Network weren't ready to let that spirit go quiet, so they built something that outlasts him.
Every season, Lake Conference student-athletes compete, contribute, and push through things the box score never shows. Some of them are one tuition bill away from stopping.
The Kaleidoscope Scholarship Fund holds and administers this fund, and disbursements go directly to the recipient's enrolled institution. Award amounts and the number of recipients are set each year based on what the community raises, so a bigger pool means more students get the call.
This scholarship exists through the generosity of the Senser family, The Lake Conference Network, and LiveBarn, along with donors who believe in honoring Joe by investing in the next generation of Minnesota student-athletes.
A gift in his name says the same thing to a student who needs to hear it right now. Give once, or give every year, and keep his name on someone's tuition bill.
